The Metropolitan Tops Out

12/21/2006

Setting a new standard in both height and architectural design, The Metropolitan is one of the Pearl District's most exciting urban renewal undertakings to date. The mixed-use project features luxury condominiums, innovative live/work spaces, and street-level retail space, all integrated to accommodate an array of uses and lifestyles.

"The top-out of The Metropolitan is a landmark step for this project and our community," said Tiffany Sweitzer, President/CEO of Hoyt Street Properties. "With the main tower concrete frame fully realized and the lobby glass facade installed, future residents and business owners can begin to see how the building enhances the neighborhood in exciting new ways."

Highly anticipated from the point of conception, The Metropolitan has generated a flurry of attention from homeowners, Pearl District residents, and authorities in design and urban renewal. The project was profiled by the international publication, Urban Land Magazine, for successfully incorporating live/work spaces into one multiuse complex. Certified at the silver-level for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), the luxury building has also been recognized for including green design elements and sustainable, energy-efficient systems throughout.

Slated for occupancy in Fall 2007, The Metropolitan stands between NW 10th and NW 11th Avenues and NW Lovejoy and NW Marshall Streets in the northern Pearl District. In addition to becoming a stunning centerpiece for the neighborhood, the building is a reflective, streamlined addition to Portland's skyline.
